Kia Motors Nigeria has unveiled the all-new 2018 Kia Sportage SUV that was proudly assembled in Nigeria. This follows the Auto Policy outlined by the previous administration in which vehicle manufacturers are to base their plants/factories in Nigeria to encourage locally-made goods instead of importing. The administration also placed huge financial duty on imported vehicles.

Although there are indigenous car manufacturing companies like Innoson, the assembling of foreign vehicles in Nigeria would help lower selling prices and facilitate efficient distribution.
The Sports Utility Vehicle is about Kia's best seller in the range, although Kia's most successful lies within the sedan range.
